PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Pine Grove Association in Canaan, Connecticut, was dealing with severe corrosion issues throughout their steel potable water tank. They needed a fast-acting solution to avoid costly downtime for their water operations. They contracted A&W Coatings to rehabilitate the failing tank with Warren’s NSF approved 301-01 epoxy coating.

The A&W crew prepped the tank’s surface by water blasting at 5,000 psi, followed by sandblasting. Once the A&W crew cleaned the surface, they discovered that the tank’s bottom was severely rusted. E-glass was applied to these areas for extra support. A&W Coatings sprayed 150 mils of our 301-01 epoxy along the interior of the tank. The crew successfully completed the job in two days, maintaining Pine Grove Association’s goal of minimizing disruption.
